It’s a second shot at love for Nikki Reed and DJ Qualls! HollywoodLife.com spotted the former couple acting pretty darn together at the Blackberry Torch launch party in Los Angeles last night!

We were stunned to see the two together – they make such a mismatched pair – but together they were. We spotted the Twilight actress, 22, putting her hand in DJ’s back pocket and rubbing his back; they briefly held hands before separating.

Later in the evening we spotted the two sitting close and chatting with Gossip Girl star Michelle Tractenberg and Parks and Recreation’s Rashida Jones before acting casual when they people were watching.

Don’t be all THAT surprised though, BFFs – although Nikki is dating an older man (he’s 32 and best known for playing creepy virgin Kyle in Road Trip) she HAS been there and done him before: they dated in 2006 and co-starred in the films Last Day of Summer and Familiar Strangers.

Actress Nikki Reed, who played the vampire Rosalie in “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” is urging teens in San Antonio and across the country to show their support for disadvantaged students by donating to the third annual National Staples/Do Something 101 School Supply Drive.

Reed, DoSomething.org and Staples are urging locals to drop off pencils, notebooks and other preferably new school supplies at San Antonio area Staples stores through Sept. 18.

The supplies will be given to charitable organizations, including the Salvation Army, Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio and the W. Ed Parker Youth Center, for distribution, according to a news release.

Teens interested in running their own local school supply drives can find tips at www.DoSomething101.org.

The indie crime thriller Catch .44 has acquired pair of lovely bloodsuckers. Deadline reports that Nikki Reed (The Twilight Saga) and Deborah Ann Woll (True Blood) have joined Aaron Harvey’s upcoming film that centers on “three gorgeous female assassins sent on a job that might be their last.” Malin Akerman will play the lead gorgeous female assassin while Forest Whitaker is on board as a psychopathic hitman, and Bruce Willis will play the head crime boss who is the mastermind behind everything that happens.

Filming on Catch .44 is scheduled to begin on July 8th in Louisiana.

Five of the actors who play Cullen family members in the Twilight film series – Peter Facinelli, Jackson Rathbone, Elizabeth Reaser, Nikki Reed, and Ashley Greene – teamed up to answer questions at the LA press event for the third film, Eclipse. And among the questions posed to the group was, would any of them be interested in a spin-off involving their character – if approved by Twilight author Stephenie Meyer? Rathbone was quick to respond, joking, “Like Twilight the Musical? Oh yeah! I’ve got my tap dancing shoes prepared.” Reed joked, “Well, with Bill Condon…you never know!”

Facinelli had his own idea for where to take a potential Twilight spin-off and even had a name for a film based on his character, the patriach of the Cullen family: The Chronicles of Carlisle.

“The Chronicles of Carlisle? That’s awesome,” said Rathbone, laughing. “I think it’s one of those things. As opportunities present themselves, we’ll be on board or trying to figure it out with our schedules and everything. What the Twilight franchise has done for a lot of us is amazing. We have so many fans and such a strong support system. It’s a blessing. I’m just going to keep going day by day.”

Chronicles of Carlisle? Meyer should set to work on that immediately, and then finish up Midnight Sun so we can finally learn all of Edward’s backstory.

The second I saw Nikki Reed’s intricate side braid at the Activision Kick-Off Party For E3 in LA on June 14 I had to know how I could copy her effortlessly cool ‘do and how you could too obviously! Thankfully, celebrity hairstylist Kristin Ess who created this stunning look promises it’s actually attainable. “It’s something that’s easy and works with anyone’s texture,” Kristin says. “There are so many hairdos we do on our celebs that are impossible to get. But, this is literally something you can do on yourself.” Nikki loved this look as much as I did too! “She’s super into it,” Kristin says. “She’s so down for anything.”

“This is a really great updo for someone with a couple of colors in their hair,” Kristin says. “We lightened Nikki’s hair up a little bit. With this you see a lot more of the color.” So, why the color change for Nikki? “ We wanted to even it out,” Kristin says. “We made the dark bottom a little lighter and did a subtle highlight around her face. It’s very low maintenance and it wont have a line. I don’t want her running around her filming location with roots or highlights that are fading.”

Nikki, star of this summer’s upcoming blockbuster film Twilight: Eclipse, is encouraging teens to make a difference this summer by collecting school supplies and dropping them off at their local Staples store from July 4 through September 18. In addition, Staples customers will be able to get involved by donating $1 at any Staples store, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting local students in need. Each Staples store will be matched to a local educational not-for-profit organization serving local youth, and DoSomething.org and Staples will ensure that all the donations get to these partners just in time for the new school year.

“Do Something 101 has done an amazing job in its first two years, and I’m dedicated to making the 2010 campaign the best yet,” said Nikki Reed. “Every donated pencil, notebook and other supplies add up to make a big difference in improving education.”

During the first two Do Something 101 school supply drives, Staples and DoSomething.org, with the help from celebrity supporters Jordin Sparks and Ciara, raised more than $750,000. To build on this success and help kick off the 2010 campaign, Nikki is starring in a public service announcement (PSA) that will air on television and radio stations nationwide, starting in July. Staples will also donate more than $125,000 worth of school supplies to the program.
